To inspire myself to write these words to accompany this footage shot at Cherry Grove Beach back in 2018, once again, I returned to my journal entries at that time.
Back then, as now, my brother Scott was very much on my mind. My notes include details about those who were paying him visits at his home in Greenville those days, other things happening for and to him, and conversations we were having about him at the beach.

In the months ahead, Beth and I are planning to relocate to Greenville to spend more time with Scott and do our best to move at least one mountain together. We do intend to return to Asheville in 2027, but we are very much looking forward to experiencing more of what Southern Illinois has to offer, starting soon.
