To inspire myself to write these words to accompany this footage shot at Cherry Grove Beach back in 2018, once again, I returned to my journal entries at that time.

Through each of those days, and on into the present, we all have continued to honor and celebrate life’s joys together as often as possible.

Almost exactly seven years ago, I stopped to shoot this footage along Highway 105 just south of Boone. Reviewing it and re-reading my journal entries from that time, I’m surprised to see all the directions our lives were travelling.

Looking back now, that sober vision of the foundation of my life – alongside more aspirational ideas that continue to inspire me – created an important milestone.

Honoring the present does remain vastly important for me, always, and yet, this digital pathway is sure to involve even more savoring of sweet, bygone times.
